Yesterday we reconvened for the first time for a business meeting since May! We had a lot to share, including reflecting on our successful Midsommar and Kräftskiva events, and looking ahead to the rest of the year. We then kicked off our fall programming with a wonderful presentation by Marti Matthews about the life of Carl Sandburg, a Swedish-American poet, journalist and author. We topped off the afternoon with a delicious fika, led by Judi Carlstrand, where we were invited to create our own open-faced smörgåstårtes!
Prior to the meeting, our Children's Club met to learn the names of different parts of the body in Swedish during a fun, interactive activity, and they also practiced their Lucia songs with Annette Johansson accompanying on the piano!
